VENUS TRIPTYCH
Created on the occasion of the 540th anniversary of Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus.
Venus, the Roman goddess, is associated with the principles of love, beauty, and fertility—though only secondarily. Originally, her name meant grace or desire.
Shadows are entrusted with the task performed by the Horae, draping the veil of the season over the goddess.
